Anatomical Models
We provide a variety of anatomical models to support hands-on training across multiple specialties and skill levels, ensuring a comprehensive and adaptable learning experience, including:
-
Standardized Patients – Bring surgical simulations to life with live patient interactions. Train in clinical skills like history taking, physical exams, and point-of-care ultrasound, or practice patient communication, including pre-op consultations, consent discussions, and post-op care.
-
Cadaveric Training – Train on real human anatomy with fresh frozen cadaveric specimens for unmatched realism. Nearly any procedure—from airway management to x-ray guided interventions—can be practiced on a donor. Enhance vascular access training with regionally perfused extremities or work with industry partners to create whole-body perfusion models simulating real-time bleeding.
-
Synthetic Task Trainers – Build foundational skills with models designed for learners at all levels. Frequently used in hybrid courses that integrate both dry and wet lab components.
- Biologic Task Trainers - When synthetic models don’t provide the same level of realism, we offer biologic task trainers or explant tissue models from federally regulated vendors. These include GI explants for endoscopy procedures, trachea models for cricothyrotomy training, and tissue models for vascular access practice.
Immersive Technology
We integrate industry-leading technology to enhance simulation-based training, providing seamless in-person and virtual learning experiences:
-
Live Streaming – Broadcast surgical demonstrations from the lab to the classroom for real-time instruction.
-
Surgical Video Recording – Capture procedures for hybrid in-person and virtual conferences.
-
Simulation Recording & Debriefing – Analyze performance and provide structured feedback.
-
Remote Proctoring – Enable experts to observe and provide real-time guidance on procedures from a distance.
-
3D Printing – Develop custom synthetic trainers for procedural practice and innovation.
- 3D Virtual Models – Use CT and 3D scanning to create high-fidelity virtual anatomy for simulation and education.
Physician Partnerships
Select training programs may have the opportunity to collaborate with Mayo Clinic physicians for expert-guided instruction, operating room observation, or product development through Mayo Clinic Ventures. These partnerships offer invaluable clinical insight, enhancing hands-on training, surgical techniques, and medical innovation. Availability is contingent on physician interest and scheduling, making each collaboration a unique opportunity.
