Class of 2025
The Clinical Anatomy Fellowship at Mayo Clinic was an instant draw for me because it offered a rare opportunity to reconnect with my clinical roots. Having trained as a physician and surgeon before transitioning into medical education, I found it deeply rewarding to interact once again with surgeons and contribute meaningfully to patient care through anatomy teaching. This hands-on engagement at Mayo felt like coming full circle.
Equally important was the opportunity to receive mentorship from seasoned and innovative educators. The Department of Clinical Anatomy exemplifies Mayo’s three shields—practice, education, and research—in a truly integrated way. As an early-career faculty member from India, I was inspired by the department's forward-thinking leadership and their commitment to fostering academic excellence and collaboration.
One of the most unexpected joys of the fellowship was discovering the welcoming spirit of Rochester. I was struck by how genuinely personable people are—whether in the hallways of the subway system or around town, strangers would greet me with a smile and a “hello.” Coming from a country of nearly two billion, this warmth felt especially personal. I’ve grown to love Rochester’s four distinct seasons, each with its own charm, made all the more beautiful by the community that calls this place home.
