Human-Centered Environments

Creating environments which empower human and machine interactions keep the human in the loop and place the focus on durable skills, such as critical thinking, creativity and agility, and less on technology. Through digital education, we develop the fusion skills, knowledge, emotions and abilities to collocate, cooperate, collaborate and co-create with digital tools.

  • Co-Location refers to the physical proximity of humans and AI.
  • Cooperation involves working together towards a common goal/task completion.
  • Collaboration is a deeper form of cooperation that involves shared creation or problem-solving.
  • Co-Creation is perhaps the highest level of integration between humans and technology, where both are engaged in the creation of new value or innovation.

Fusion Skills

Fusion Skills are a conceptual and situation-based framework where the strengths of humans and machines combine to achieve better outcomes.

Fusion Skills Framework Explained

  • Understander: Has a solid grasp of the main AI concepts and knows enough to utilize AI effectively.
  • Explainer: Can comprehend why the machine makes certain recommendations and can communicate these reasons along with necessary action steps to others.
  • Skeptic: Develops competencies to recognize and halt inappropriate machine-driven decisions, understanding that data-heavy analysis from machines can surpass human capabilities.
  • Collaborator: Works as a teacher to the machine, providing data, monitoring progress, and giving feedback, eventually learning from the system's knowledge.
  • Advocate: Ensures that the AI system does not excessively optimize at the expense of human values, keeping the patient's needs as the top priority regardless of algorithm output.

In applying the Fusion Skills framework, everyone will have the opportunity to work at the top of their license, ensuring that our workforce remains at the forefront of healthcare innovation, delivering the highest quality of care.
