Daniel Cabrera, M.D., Medical Director

Dr. Cabrera is the Medical Director, Advanced Digital Education as well as former Associate Dean for Continuous Professional Development and an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Cabrera is very active in the field of Artificial Intelligence development and productization, leading the creation and implementation of multiple AI and machine learning clinical tools and other advance technologies such as distributed networks and blockchain. His focus is on the adoption of fusion skills.

Elissa Hall, Ed.D., Director

Dr. Hall is the Director, Advanced Digital Education and an Assistant Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic. Elissa leads nationally as the Chair – Elect, Association of American Medical Colleges – Group on Education Affairs and serves internationally as a Co-Course Director, Transforming Your Teaching Using Technology, Harvard Macy Institute. Dr. Hall catalyzes internal and external collaborations to foster fusion skill development and the advanced digital education strategy.

Jennifer Allen, M.Ed.

Jennifer currently serves as the Product Owner, Mayo Clinic Advanced Digital Education and is an Instructor of Medical Education at Mayo Clinic. As a scholar, researcher, and innovator, she has been actively involved in presenting at learning and development conferences, contributing to the development of adaptive expertise and integration of knowledge into practice.

Theresa Villerot, M.Ed., MLS(ASCP)CM

Theresa is the Curriculum and Assessment Manager, Advanced Digital Education. Theresa’s journey in medicine started as a medical laboratory scientist working in hospitals across Michigan, Minnesota, and Hawaii. Stepping into health professions education she developed a love for graphic medicine and sketchnoting the ins and outs of Transfusion Medicine. Theresa finds herself drawn to the jagged edge of education, developing online ecosystems of education and podcasting to currently serving as product owner for Microcredentials at Mayo Clinic. She thrives in the squiggles and leads systems change with lean innovation.

Lizzie Crowston, Ph.D., M.Ed.

Lizzie is the Senior Instructional Designer, Advanced Digital Education and an Instructor of Medical Education at Mayo Clinic. Lizzie is culture and community-orientated with a passion for scholarly activities that enhance staff skills and close digital divides. Lizzie is an innovator at heart, with strengths in ideation and design thinking.
