Education Research Steering Committee
Committee Mission
Provide strategic direction and leadership to advance medical education research and scholarship throughout the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science (MCCMS).
Committee Charge
- Build medical education research capacity through supporting intramural Education Science Awards (e.g., ESCDA, EERA, MCEIA, CEI awards)
- Cultivate and sustain a MCCMS medical education research community by advancing career development and facilitating collaboration in relation to medical education research
- Enhance national and international acclaim for MCCMS in the areas of medical education research and scholarship
- Promote the development of a reciprocal relationship between the Practice and Education shields by supporting education research aligned with patient outcomes/which translates to practice
- Drive decisions to inform the development of mechanisms for documenting outcomes and disseminating new knowledge to an international audience
- Foster scholarly thinking by creating faculty development resources related to medical education research and scholarship in collaboration with the Faculty Development Steering Committee
- Support the adoption of innovative, relevant education technologies by critically appraising their value and effective strategies for integration and implementation
