Text

While the ESDE team is proud to offer maximum flexibility and customization of Studio Site websites, there are a few things to keep in mind to ensure all content on your Studio Site adheres to Mayo Clinic brand standards.

Mayo Clinic brand guidelines

To stay within Mayo Clinic brand guidelines, all text content on Studio Sites should be intentionally written in a personable and conversational manner, as if you're speaking to someone in person. Content should be confident, compassionate, optimistic, collaborative, and accessible. To accommodate a variety of page viewers, use clear and simple language, meeting the intermediate reading comprehension level.

Mayo Clinic references

There are many text styles and standards that are specific to Mayo Clinic, particularly when referencing Mayo Clinic locations and schools. Learn more about appropriate references to Mayo Clinic from the Brand Resource Center.

Adding text to a Studio Site page

There are a variety of content types in T4 that can be used to add text to a Studio Site page. Learn more about these content types that are primarily used for adding text:

General Content

General Content

The General Content Type is used for basic content, text, bulleted lists, tables, and occasionally images. This is often the most commonly used content type on a Studio Site webpage.

Accordions and Tabs

Accordions and Tabs

Accordions and tabs are two different content types with a similar use: They both help to keep pages from overwhelming users with too much content. Accordions and tabs allow page visitors to choose what content is relevant to them.

Feature Boxes

Feature Boxes

Feature boxes are a card-based format typically used for displaying text and images together in a consistent group. They allow for slider functionality and can each contain buttons with links. This is a feature box.

Fifty Fifty

Fifty Fifty

The Fifty Fifty content type is used to display prominent information on a page alongside an image, with the option to add a button or "arrow" links. This content type is quite versatile and offers a variety of formats and background colors.

Profile

Profile

The profile content type can be used to highlight individuals. Each profile displays as a separate "profile card" on the page. Profile cards can be displayed in two by two rows on a page. Alternatively, select "Slider" on four or more profiles to display all consecutive profiles in a single row with arrows on the left and right side that can be used to scroll through them.

Sidebar

Sidebar

The sidebar content type displays on the right-hand side of the page and is primarily used for contact information and listing the application window on program websites.
