Clinical Innovation and Entrepreneurship Academy

Course Structure

  • Duration: Twelve months
  • Schedule: One full day per month (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT), in person at each site
  • Format: Mornings include lectures, didactics, and guest speakers. Afternoons are dedicated to hands-on workshops.
  • Commitment: No work is required outside of scheduled Academy days.
  • Attendance: Only one absence is permitted across the program.
  • Conclusion: The year culminates in a pitch competition and banquet in June.
  • Recognition: Participants receive a certificate upon successful completion.

Is This For You?

The Academy is designed to serve as a bridge for Mayo Clinic residents and fellows to learn and apply the fundamentals of clinical innovation and entrepreneurship through a longitudinal program. The program will leverage expertise internally and externally on the topics of innovation, commercialization, entrepreneurship, AI, and communication. The program will provide exposure to the Medtech industry and create a network of physician innovators.
