Education Science Career Development Award (ESCDA)
Promoting Faculty Development in Education Science
The Office of Education Research, within the Office of Applied Scholarship and Education Science (OASES), each year accepts applications for the Education Science Career Development Award (ESCDA). Funding from this award will provide faculty development opportunities to Mayo Clinic faculty who wish to pursue education research as a significant component of their careers.
Participants chosen for this award will gain skills in education research and have the opportunity to create high-quality research protocols to study an education research question of their choice.
Eligibility
- Open to all Mayo Clinic employees with an academic rank.
- Trainees may apply if they have a pending staff appointment effective before the funding period begins.

Participants are expected to adjust their clinical and personal schedules to accommodate these events once dates have been finalized. Each awardee will receive 16 days of protected time for program activities, including coursework, workshops, mentoring, and research proposal development. ESCDA funds cover 8 days. The awardee’s home department/division covers the remaining 8 days.
